Program Description

The Mobile Intensive Care Technician (MICT), also known as the Paramedic (EMT-P), program is an accredited program by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). As a prerequisite, certification as an EMT is required before entering the MICT program. MICTs are trained to provide advanced life support in the pre-hospital emergency setting, including administering intravenous fluids and medications, performing endotracheal intubation, and utilizing cardiac monitor defibrillators. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the National Registry Examination for certification as an EMT-P and can pursue employment opportunities with ambulance services.
