Program Description
UH Maui College’s Nursing Program is an integral part of the Hawaiʻi Statewide Nursing Curriculum, providing students with two options: Practical Nurse (PN) and Associate of Science Registered Nurse (RN). The program equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue careers as practical nurses or registered nurses, offering a comprehensive pathway for those interested in the field of nursing. Upon completing the Associate of Science Nursing program, students have diverse career opportunities in the field of nursing. Graduates with a Practical Nurse Certificate of Achievement (CA) can work under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, home health agencies, and physician offices. Those with an Associate in Science Degree (AS) as registered nurses (RNs) are prepared for entry-level positions in hospitals, extended care facilities, clinics, and other healthcare settings, allowing them to provide comprehensive patient care and contribute to the healthcare team.
