Program Description

The Career Ladder Nursing program at Kaua’i Community College offers a flexible educational path for students interested in pursuing a nursing career. New students are admitted in the fall semester, and the curriculum spans three semesters, including a six-week summer session. Upon successfully completing the first year of the program, students receive a Certificate of Achievement (CA) and become eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX®) for licensure as a Practical Nurse.

Upon completing the second year of the Career Ladder Nursing program at Kaua’i Community College, students earn an Associate of Science (AS) Degree and become eligible to take the NCLEX® examination for licensure as a Registered Nurse. Graduates also have the option to continue their education by gaining admission to the fourth year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at UH Mānoa. This pathway allows for seamless progression towards a higher level of nursing education and expanded career opportunities.
