Program Description
The Dental Hygiene program prepares individuals for careers in general and specialty dental offices, as well as public health agencies. The curriculum focuses on the integration of prevention, education, and clinical aspects of dental hygiene practice, along with foundational and social sciences. The program meets the requirements set by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation and is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Graduates are eligible to take national board exams and apply for licensure with the Hawai‘i Board of Dental Examiners.
